pincha workshop

saturday, september 27, 1-3 pm, £30

mudra yoga studio, stoke newington, N16 9HS

i’m holding space for a gentle deep dive into pincha mayurasana, the forearm balance known as feathered peacock. this will be a two-hour extended class for anyone curious about the pose, whether you’re just beginning to explore it or have been working on it for a while.

the focus will be on building strong, intelligent foundations: preparing the shoulders and wrists, engaging the core and legs, and learning how to work with the breath to support balance. alongside the physical, i’ll bring attention to the more subtle practices such as patience, consistency, and the courage to try again.

pincha can ask a lot of us. it calls for tapas, the discipline and determination to keep showing up, and aparigraha, the practice of letting go of the outcome. you might fall. you might fly. what matters is that you’re willing to explore with playfulness, curiosity and kindness.

this will not be a drill or a performance. it’s not about getting the pose. it’s a chance to understand what goes into it, and to enjoy the process. expect space to ask questions, move at your own pace, no pressure. a regular asana practice is recommended, but you don’t need to have pincha in your toolkit yet.

feel free to reach out if you’re unsure whether it’s for you, otherwise, i look forward to having you join me!
